The project
The National Data Repository (NDR) is an online platform providing access to over 130 terabytes of open data relevant to economic recovery of the UK Continental Shelf. The launch of the NDR was considered a milestone in UK data releases and therefore a logo and branding was required to give the NDR a visual identity.
My role
As creative lead I worked with stakeholders within the data and digital teams to design a logo, wordmark and colour theme for the identity, which could be applied to the online platform and across other digital media such as social, video and presentation material.

Initial Concepts
I like to begin my process by conducting research and then creating initial sketches of ideas. I never go straight to the computer, if I can avoid it, as I'm a firm believer in the freedom of ideation through paper and pen.
