Challenge
As Urban-Air Port matured from conception to successful start-up business in the UAM sector, it needed an identity and branding to communicate its purpose and mission. The first step was to create a logo and visual style for a variety of intended applications including digital marketing, print collateral and event design. In conjunction a tone of voice was needed to begin creating a personality for the UAP brand.
My role
As Head of Communications I was called upon to help create and shape the UAP brand, designing and managing applications to all marketing material and touchpoints. Working closely with the Founder and Board of Directors I created a unique identity inspired by the company's flagship product - Air One - the world's first fully functioning vertiport for drones and air taxis.

Logo development
Logo concepts
Taking inspiration from the rounded shape and 'segmented' design of UAP's Air One vertiport, I created a roundel shape, inset with the U A P letterforms of the company name. I intentionally left gaps in the design to represent the unique selling point of a 'kit of parts' design. The crossbar on the letter 'A' is also intentionally absent to symbolise ascent. The images below storyboard the logo conception from initial sketches to explored options to final monochromatic design.

Colour developments
The logo design went through several iterations of colourways before a final selection was made of Pantone blues 2152 and 7458.
Applications
Iconography
A key deliverable of the brand assets was the development of an icon library communicating technical terms.
Product brochure
A physical and digital brochure was an essential requirement for engagement at events and for visitors to the UAP website. The bespoke size printed brochure was designed to be portable, with information regarding UAP's products, service offering and unique selling points.
